The Neelkanth Temple Is one of the most exceptional religious sites in Rishikesh. Lord Shiva is called Neelkanth. The temple belongs to Lord Shiva. Thousands of devotees visit here to find internal peace of mind.

Trimbakeshwar Temple in the town is also related to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is the foremost God in Rishikesh and is worshiped by diverse devotees. It is also known as Tera Manzil Temple. Pushkar is a religious place to visit in India. Pushkar is one of the oldest cities in India and is located to the northwest of Ajmer. It is also notorious as the Rose Garden of Rajasthan. The Pushkar Temple belongs to God Brahma.

Pushkar is exquisite for its temples named Varah Temple, Savitri Temple, Rangji Temple, Apteshwar Temple and Mahadeva Temple. It is said that a flower fell off Brahma’s hand, thus forming the pious town of Pushkar.

Brahma, the creator of the world, selected this place for his sacred temple. Pushkar Lake is very prominent among devotees. The Pushkar Aarti is quaint. Many visitors come to see this eccentric view of aarti.

Ajmer, credited to be a religious place to visit in India, is a city in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan. Ajmer is prominent for Dargah Sharif, tomb of the Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti. It is said that Moin-Ud-Din Chisti was the successor of Muhammad and addressed his belief to the masses.

This place is iconic for both Hindus and Muslims. This is a symbol of peace and harmony. People of Ajmer are very ascetical and cooperative. They behave politely with everyone.

Akbar came from Agra on foot to gratitude Dargah for the birth of his first son. If you visit inside Dargah, you will find Sufi eating and meeting rooms and hostels.

Bodhgaya is a religious tourist place in India, which is located in the Northeast Indian state of Bihar. It is regarded as one of the most valuable places for Buddhists. Gautam Buddha attained Moksha under a Bodhi tree.

Bodhgaya is regarded as a pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhists. Most of the followers worship Buddhists. Bodhgaya is renowned for the ritual of Pind daan. Hindus come here during Pitru Paksha to offer food to their forefathers.

Ashoka visited Bodh Gaya 260 BCE. Most Buddhists perform mantras, chant mala and meditate here. The main practices of Buddhism are Sila, Samadhi and Prajna. Buddhists have no faith in any deity or God.

Rameshwaram:

Rameshwaram is a religious place to visit in India. Rameshwaram is sited in the Southeast Indian State of Tamil Nadu. It is renowned for Ramanathan Swamy Temple, which is a Hindu temple that belongs to the God Shiva.

Here Lord Rama constructed a bridge across the sea to Sri Lanka.

Rameshwaram Temple’s main idol is Linga known as Ramanathan Swamy Jyotirlinga. There are two lingam, one is made of sand, and the other Linga is known as Vishwalingam carried by Lord Hanuman from Kailash Parvat.

It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and a Chardham as well. During the historic War of the Ramayana, Shri Ram Chandraji worshipped Lord Shiva after defeating Raavan. It is said that Ravana was a Brahmin and in order to expiate for the sin, Lord Ram offered prayers to Lord Shiva. The Temple was built by the rulers of Sethupathi Maravar in the 12th century. There are 22 wells in Rameshwaram. You can take blessings from these 22 wells.

Ujjain is a religious tourist place in India to visit. Ujjain is an oldest city in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, the most renowned Hindu pilgrimage.

Ujjain is one of the Shakti Pithas. The Skanda Purana says that Mahadeva, Yoginis, 8 Bhairavas and 6 Ganeshas are placed here. Another attraction of the spiritual city is Sun Temple, the only shrine dedicated to God Sun. The globally renowned attraction of the city is the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple.  The famous Aarti is performed here.

Ujjain has been a pilgrimage for Hindu, Jain and Buddha religions. It is a city of gods. If you are attending Bhasma Aarti, men have to wear a dhoti and women have to wear a saree. Maratha general Ranaji Shinde built the Mahakaleshwar Shiva Temple in 1734 CE.

The importance of Bhasma Aarti is that the sacred ash is offered to Shiva because he is considered Kaal or death. Only he can control Kaal, everything burnt is reduced to ash.
